Span Lok Improvements
Longer length panels, advancements in clip designs, a customized hook, and a new on-site roll former are many of the value-added improvements AEP Span has made with the designers and installers in mind as we continually upgrade our climate-tested Span Lok profile. Our new on-site roll former now offers long length capabilities greater than 70 feet and up to 150 feet, saving on shipping charges and handling damage long length panels are sometimes subjected to. These longer panels eliminate the numerous end laps associated with multiple panels, resulting in a cleaner detail with less worry about water infiltration.
Additional changes to our low profile bearing clips not only make the on-site seaming of the panel smoother and easier, but the recent modifications now allow installers to preassemble the clips prior to climbing the roof, reducing the installers time on the rooftop. These proprietary changes to our clips now aid in a tighter and flatter seam, giving a sharper aesthetic look to any field seamed project of yours. Further adjustments to the angles of our Span Lok Profile allow for snap down application onto adjoining panels. These value-added modifications avoid roll-locking the seams many competing panels require, allowing for simple and unblemished installation.
Ongoing improvements to our Span Lok panel are backed by tests conducted at our in-house testing facilities. In fact, most recently, AEP Span’s Span Lok hp panel survived wind loads exceeding 130 pounds per square foot, leading to a project in Pensacola, Florida for the U.S. Navy on their new Diver Training Center.
